Sometimes, it’s just one of those days:

Slater demanded an apology from the passenger, the official said, but the passenger refused. The two argued before the passenger told Slater to “fuck off”, the official said. The official said that Slater then got on the plane’s PA system and directed that same obscenity at all the passengers and added that he especially meant it for the man who refused to apologize.Slater is alleged to have then activated the plane’s inflatable emergency slide, grabbed two beers from the galley, then slid down the chute, the official said.

UPDATE:  Someone wrote a song about this.  Just trust me and hit play.

Two conversations with Bill Murray:

The first is a GQ interview that has been burning up the internet.  He has only given interviews a few times in the past decade, so this is notable for that alone.  Also, things like this:

Bill Murray: I’m out of touch. I have no idea. I never saw the original Office. I never saw this Office. I never even saw Clerks. Like I never saw, what’s-his-name, Larry David’s show.

GQ: Curb Your Enthusiasm?

Bill Murray: No! The other one. With the other guy.

GQ: Seinfeld?

Bill Murray: Seinfeld! I never saw Seinfeld.

GQ: Come on.

Bill Murray: Really! I never saw Seinfeld until the final episode, and that’s the only one I saw. And it was terrible. I’m watching, thinking, “This isn’t funny at all. It’s terrible!”

The second conversation is in the movie Lost in Translation between Bill Murray (Bob), a director, and a translator.  If you’ve seen the movie, you probably remember the scene, but now it’s been fully translated so you know what everyone is saying!

DIRECTOR (very brusquely, and in much more colloquial Japanese):  Either way is fine. That kind of thing doesn’t matter. We don’t have time, Bob-san, O.K.? You need to hurry. Raise the tension. Look at the camera. Slowly, with passion. It’s passion that we want. Do you understand?

INTERPRETER (In English, to Bob): Right side. And, uh, with intensity.

BOB: Is that everything? It seemed like he said quite a bit more than that.

1) Captured: America in Color from 1939-1943 is a photo series that presents WWII era America in a way that we’re not used to seeing, full color.  It’s kind of weird, actually.

2) I’ve linked to The Big Picture before. It’s a photo site that often shows spectacular stuff.  Well, The Big Caption is a new companion site of sorts “wherein jokes and statments are made using typography”.  For example:

I would be remiss in my duties as site administrator if I didn’t post this video immediately.

In our rich tradition of posting weird videos, here’s a doozy.

This one is a little more upbeat.

There are a few F-bombs, but well worth the hilarity.

I’m proud to present the newest site in the “Awkward” series.tumblr_l2sqhvlac41qakqfvo1_400.jpg
